Father's Residence, Banswara

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Axial Symmetry has been a key element for planning the built form, which is more inward looking yet open to its surroundings. It centres around a courtyard that breathes life into the space, promoting cross ventilation vital for Rajasthan's climate. The ample openings of closed spaces to the outside as well as the courtyard yet again emphasizes the importance of cross ventilation (in the dry and hot climate of Rajasthan) throughout the structure. An inviting archway crafted from exposed brick marks the entrance of the Salesian Residence in Banswara, seamlessly blending form with function. The earthy tones of terracotta blocks and exposed bricks bring a contrast to the material palette of the ubiquitous stone of Rajasthan.
